Worksheet competition winners
The department organised its first worksheet competition for teacher trainees in Autumn 2023. The aim of the competition is to encourage trainees to nurture their creativity and develop materials which they can use in their private lessons, and later in group settings, thereby contributing to their life-long professional development.
In each term, the jury consists of the methodology tutors of the department and ELT professionals working for IATEFL-Hungary (now TESOL-Hungary).
2nd edition of the competition: LOVE
For the second edition of the competition (Spring term 2024), 11 amazing teacher trainees submitted entries. The worksheets that won stood out for being original, easy to understand, practical, well-designed, fun to use, and clearly linked to learning goals.
1st place: Ferancz Zsófia - Love is in the air
The winning worksheet includes activities for argumentation, teaches idioms, uses trendy lyrics, and uses AI to collect ideas for a short story.
2nd place: Metzner Fanni - In love with myself
This worksheet focuses on self-love and includes activities nurturing social and emotional skills and language skills.
3rd place: Kristina Sekulic - Love
This creative worksheet captivated the jury’s heart with its stunning design and unique take on poetry.
3rd place: Majorszki Anita - Love is all around
This worksheet heavily relies on songs and involves activities addressing self-love, love for one’s partner and love for one’s family and friends.

1st edition of the competition: DIVERSITY
The DELP worksheet competition was first organised in Autumn 2023. We received six entries from our wonderful teacher trainees. Each submission showcased creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of diversity. The jury had a difficult job as each entry was fantastic in its own right. The winning worksheets were chosen based on their originality, clarity, feasibility, design, engagement, and alignment with learning objectives.

1st place: Anna Szántó - Bullying and diversity
This captivating worksheet is centred around an upbeat song, approaching a difficult topic in an enjoyable and memorable way.
2nd place: Ferancz Zsófia - We are all in this together
This innovative worksheet deals with the topic of representation in advertisements and aims to develop students’ critical thinking skills.
3rd place: Mráz Borbála - Different colours
This creative worksheet utilizes a song and uses the topic of colours to approach the topic of diversity.
