Lead-in questions:

  1. We often use the word media to mean only the mass media, but what does this phrase mean exactly? Try to give a short definition of what the phrase the mass media actually means and give some examples of the different forms of the mass media.

  2. What other types of media are there which are not produced electronically but which are still meant to be consumed by a lot of people? Make a list of as many as you can think of.

  3. Why are there public memorials and monuments in nearly every country in the world? What sort of people and events do these memorials and monuments remind us, the public, of?
